ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE

Artist Jemina Reyes is an art scholar in B.A. degree in Art Studio at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1992. After her studies, Jemina flew back to the Philippines where she is now a full-time artist. Jemina started her solo exhibit in 1996 and her latest is her 16th show since then; among them are in the recognized museum galleries in the country. Jemina had the special privilege to do a series of works for the book cover of Francis Kong’s One Day at a Time and to have done paintings for Asya Resort Boracay. Jeminas goal has been always to create works of art that would somehow inspire others.

Inspired by the intensity of feelings whether it is love, passion, anxiety or hope. The artist paintings are personal however, she believes that emotions are universal. Take a simple subject of a rose: to a perfumer it is fragrance; to a botanist it is a plant; to lovers it is a symbol of romance. With her minimalist style, Jemina chose a limited palette to define a colorful world. Many details are lost, the paintings are not photographic but the heart is there.

Jemina Reyes opens her solo exhibition billed as “All You Need is Love” in Lolo Dad’s Brasserie starting on February 4, 2010 with opening cocktails.
The exhibit runs until March 30, 2010. For inquiry please call Kaye Nuguid at 0927-3244013 or visit our website.
